Tucked away off a little side street in up-and-coming Kuramae, this shop is a serendipitous find for aesthetes. Its name meaning “the light of day,” it showcases the very essence of Japanese craftsmanship.

A space that plays with shadow and light, Hakujitsu’s rooms are home to a plethora of locally-made Japanese ceramics. Vases, bowls, and plates in earthy tones are set atop weathered wooden tables, bringing about an air of furubita- the Japanese concept of something worn with time.

After browsing here, stop in for the coffee omakase menu at nearby Lonich, making for a perfect afternoon of creative inspiration.
