From atop Tokyo’s highest buildings, you can see the majestic Fuji-san in the distance. Considered a sacred site to the Japanese, Mount Fuji is a great day trip from Tokyo.

Get train tickets a few days (or weeks!) before your journey, and ensure you make an early start to beat the crowds. I like to visit the lovely Oishi Park, where flowers change with the seasons, offering a perfect view over the volcano.

If you have extra time, I highly recommend spending a few days in the area and booking one of the many gorgeous hotels which overlook the mountain– allowing for the most beautiful sunrise!
