The most incredible site I’ve ever seen, a trip to Machu Picchu is truly a spiritual experience. The “cradle of civilization”, this awe-inspiring Incan city draws in visitors from all around the world. I will save time and let you experience it yourself – as no words truly do it justice. To visit, base yourself in the small city of Aguascalientes – you can then take a train or bus up to the site. It’s highly recommended to go as early as possible, around 6 AM. Make sure to book tickets ahead of time (ideally at least a month) and ensure you have a ticket which also allows you to walk around the site rather than just viewing it. It’s highly recommended to have a guide here as the history of Machu Picchu is something truly spectacular. 

For the ultimate adventure, visit Machu Picchu by way of a multi-day hike, with either the Salkantay Trek or Inca Trail. You can book tours with local agencies and can make the hikes either a budget or luxury experience. The best recommended agency is Salkantay Trekking, based in Cusco.
