Upscale Argentine cuisine in an iconic pink building in the heart of Palermo, you know El Preferido as soon as you see it. I used to live right around the corner from this institution of a restaurant- and even strolling past on a sunny day is, in itself, a pleasure.

I first dined here on my very first trip to Buenos Aires- and I’ve been coming back every time since. The food is some of the city’s best and is complemented by an extensive selection of Argentine wines.

Try the blood sausage, milanesa de bife de chorizo, fainá, and tortilla– but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Indulgent, decadent, over-the-top, this is dining in the city of Porteños.

Don’t miss the flan for dessert, piled high with dulce de leche. A reservation is highly recommended, or you’ll find yourself waiting in a very long queue.
